The Criticali online file backup service is a secure and reliable means of safeguarding your critical data so that it can be restored in the event of loss. It's secure because the data is encrypted at every stage and ONLY YOU have the information to unlock it.
When you create a 'backup set' (ie a list of data to be backed up), you also specify an encryption key. This is the key that is used to 'scramble' your data BEFORE it gets sent to the backup servers.
When the scrambled data is sent over the Internet, it is further protected using 1024-bit RSA public key encryption. When your data is stored on the Backup Server, it is still compressed and encrypted, so it is still secure.
